Yamper is a canine Pokémon with a yellow bolt-shaped tail that generates electricity as it runs, though it cannot store the charge and often sparks while active. In Galar it is a popular choice for herding Pokémon such as Wooloo, though its gluttonous nature means it only helps in exchange for treats. It evolves into Boltund at level 25.
Yamper shares its category, Puppy Pokémon, with Growlithe, Lillipup, Rockruff and Fidough, and it was first showcased in a demo at E3 2019 before its official reveal.
Professor Cerise owns a Yamper that first appeared in Legend? Go! Friends? Go!, usually seen alongside Chloe when she is at home.
Yamper's first cards were two Sword and Shield base set Commons illustrated by Akira Komayama and Saya Tsuruta. Shining Fates Shiny Vault added a sowsow Shiny rare, and Battle Styles brought a sui Common. Temporal Forces continued its run with a kurumitsu Common, and it reached the Mega Evolution era in Phantasmal Flames with both a Common by Ayako Ozaki and an Illustration rare by tono.
Sword & Shield's first Common, Yamper's debut card, illustrated by Akira Komayama.
Shining Fates Shiny Vault's Shiny rare, illustrated by sowsow.
Temporal Forces' Common, illustrated by kurumitsu.
Phantasmal Flames' Illustration rare, illustrated by tono, in the Mega Evolution era.
Yamper evolves into Boltund starting at level 25.
It appears to be based on a Welsh corgi, a breed associated with Queen Elizabeth II, whose reign coincided with Sword and Shield's development.

Ranked by each card’s main print in near-mint raw condition. 1st Edition, Shadowless and other versions are priced on each card’s page. The table updates live.
Yamper cards come from three eras, led by Sword & Shield, and the most valuable Yamper card is the Shiny rare from the Shining Fates Shiny Vault, released in 2021. All 7 of the 7 Yamper cards carry a market value, and the priced cards span 2020 to 2025. A Mega Evolution illustration rare from Phantasmal Flames in 2025 sits second, so Yamper card value is led by two cards from different eras rather than by a long run of similar prints.
The Shining Fates Shiny Vault Shiny rare from 2021 leads Yamper card value by 5.3 times over the next card, the Phantasmal Flames illustration rare from 2025. An illustration rare is a modern card type that gives the Pokémon a full-width artwork treatment. Third and fourth are two Commons from the 2020 Sword & Shield base set, and fifth is a Phantasmal Flames Common from 2025, so after the top two the ranking is made up of ordinary Commons.
Of the twenty-five leading Yamper cards, 4 come from Sword & Shield, 2 from Mega Evolution and 1 from Scarlet & Violet. The newest era's leader is the Phantasmal Flames illustration rare from 2025, which places 2nd overall. Every Yamper card in the top ten and in the top twenty-five is modern, with 7 modern and 0 vintage in each, where vintage means the WOTC era and modern is every later era.
Among the ten leading Yamper cards, 5 are Commons, 1 is an Illustration rare and 1 is a Shiny rare. The count is the same across the top twenty-five, since the subject has only seven cards in all. No other printed rarities appear among the most valuable Yamper cards, and no 1st Edition, Shadowless or reverse holo prints are among them.
By the value of its single leading card, Yamper ranks 579th of 1020 species with priced cards. Its only evolution line member, Boltund, ranks 636th of 1020 by the same measure, so the evolved form sits behind Yamper. With a short list of seven cards and a leader worth 5.3 times the second card, the Yamper card market rests mostly on the one Shiny rare from the Shining Fates Shiny Vault.
