Raticate

Raticate in the games: Kanto's rat and its Alolan form

Raticate is a pure Normal type that evolves from Rattata at level 20. Its standard abilities are Run Away, which guarantees an escape from wild battles, and Guts, which raises its Attack while it has a status condition; its hidden ability is Hustle.

Sun and Moon gave it an Alolan form, a Dark and Normal type with Gluttony or Hustle and the hidden ability Thick Fat; Alolan Rattata evolves into it at level 20, but only at night. In Pokémon Moon and Ultra Moon, a Totem Alolan Raticate is the boss of Ilima's trial in Verdant Cavern.

Raticate in the anime: Cassidy's partner

Raticate's best-known anime role belongs to Cassidy of Team Rocket. In The Breeding Center Secret her Raticate stands in her and Butch's version of the Team Rocket motto, the part Meowth plays for Jessie and James, and it returned in later episodes. Alolan Raticate debuted in To Top a Totem!
