Miltank is the Milk Cow Pokémon, a pure Normal type that can only be female, introduced in Generation 2 at dex #241. It does not evolve. It is a bipedal, cow-like Pokémon with a yellow udder, black hooves, and a tail tipped with a black ball. Milk Drink is its signature move in every generation except VI and VII, and before Generation VI no other known Pokémon could learn it.
Bulbapedia notes Miltank can be seen as a counterpart to Tauros, both bovine-like Pokémon sharing the same base stat total, though Miltank is female-only while Tauros is male-only. Miltank's Silver and FireRed Pokédex entries also imply it gives live birth like a real mammal, despite Pokémon reproducing via Eggs.
Miltank debuted in A Goldenrod Opportunity under Gym Leader Whitney, who used Rollout to defeat Ash's whole team, then reappeared in A Dairy Tale Ending for a rematch Ash finally won with Pikachu. That episode also introduced Whitney's uncle Milton, who keeps a herd of Miltank for cheese and yogurt on his farm. Elsewhere, a Miltank guarded a Pokémon-exclusive oasis in Got Miltank?, and in Tanks for the Memories! a group of sisters ran a Maid Café with the help of their four Miltank.
Miltank's first card is a 2000 Neo Genesis Uncommon by Ken Sugimori, followed into the EX and Diamond & Pearl eras by Tomokazu Komiya and Mitsuhiro Arita printings. Kouki Saitou drew Miltank three times, in Aquapolis, Stormfront, and the 2025 Mega Evolution set, and later highlights include a Holo Rare in Astral Radiance and a Galarian Gallery Rare in Crown Zenith.

The leading Miltank cards come from a spread of eras rather than a single one, and the most valuable Miltank card is the Uncommon from Unseen Forces, released in 2005. All 16 Miltank cards carry a market value, covering sets from 2000 to 2025, and the ten leaders hold 97 percent of the total value. Miltank card value is therefore packed into a small group at the top, with the remaining cards adding very little.
The Unseen Forces Uncommon from 2005 leads Miltank card value by 1.3 times over the next card, the Kalos Starter Set Miltank from 2013. Third is the Holo Rare from Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery in 2023, a holo being a card with a foil-patterned artwork box. Fourth is the Common from Aquapolis in 2003, and fifth is the HeartGold SoulSilver Uncommon from 2010. The lead is modest, so the top few Miltank cards sit close together.
Of the twenty-five leading Miltank cards, no era holds more than two, and the list runs from WOTC through Diamond & Pearl, XY, Sun & Moon, Sword & Shield and Scarlet & Violet. The newest era's leader is the Mega Evolution Miltank from 2025, which sits 16th overall. Vintage here means the WOTC era, and modern is every later era. The top ten holds 8 modern cards and 2 vintage, and the top twenty-five holds 14 modern and 2 vintage.
Among the ten leading Miltank cards, 6 are Uncommon, 1 is Common, 1 is Holo Rare and 1 is Rare. Widening to the leading twenty-five, the count is 8 Uncommon, 4 Common, 2 Holo Rare and 1 Rare. Uncommons dominate the most valuable Miltank cards at both depths, with the Holo Rare and the Rare appearing only a few times. The 1st Edition, Shadowless and Reverse Holo print types do not feature in the leading ten.
Among 1020 species with priced cards, Miltank ranks 599th by the value of its single leading card. By the combined value of its ten leaders it ranks 404th of 753. The leading card sits lower in the species ranking than the ten-card total does, which fits a Miltank card market built from many similar mid-ranked cards, with 97 percent of the value in the top ten.
