Makuhita

Makuhita in the anime

Makuhita debuted in Brave the Wave under the ownership of Brawly, evolving into a Hariyama during his Gym battle against Ash. A Makuhita was part of Sheridan's cheering squad in Cheer Pressure, later healing James's Cacnea and Jessie's Seviper with Helping Hand, and in a flashback in A Timeless Encounter!, Hala's Makuhita defeated an Ace Trainer's Alolan Sandslash in a grand trial. A Makuhita being babysat by Poké-Sitter Matt was comforted by May at the Pokémon Center in Pinch Healing, and in A Battle by Any Other Name!, the Berrybaker kids' Makuhita helped them clear the Poké Puff Contest preliminaries and go on to win.

Makuhita on cards

Makuhita's first cards arrived together in 2003's Ruby & Sapphire, illustrated by Ken Sugimori, Kagemaru Himeno, and Naoyo Kimura. Deoxys added a printing illustrated by Asuka Iwashita, and later sets kept Makuhita as a recurring Common through Furious Fists, Fusion Strike, and Paldea Evolved. The 2025 Mega Evolution set added a Common illustrated by Jerky.
