Linoone can run up to 60 miles per hour but can only move in a straight line, having to stop before it can turn, so it often misses its prey and struggles on winding roads. Its Galarian form instead has a black-and-white coat with a long red tongue and is known to be rash and fearless, evolves from Galarian Zigzagoon, and evolves into Obstagoon from level 35 at night.
Linoone made its animated debut in Showdown at Linoone, under the ownership of a character named Kimmy Shoney, nicknamed Tokin, who had developed a bad habit of stealing anything in sight. In The Green Guardian, a Ranger named Solana used her Capture Styler on three Linoone so they could slash vines created by a Celebi.
Linoone debuted in Ruby & Sapphire as an Uncommon illustrated by Ken Sugimori. Sword & Shield later introduced its Galarian form, and Champion's Path added a Common Galarian Linoone illustrated by Akira Komayama.
