Obstagoon's evolution is said to result from Galarian Linoone's survival instinct being honed by the harsh conditions of the Galar region. Rather than attack often, it prefers taunting an opponent into attacking first, then uses its signature move Obstruct, crossing its arms and letting out a staggering yell after taking a physical attack, loud enough to scare down defenses. With 13 characters in its romaji Japanese name Tachifusaguma, Obstagoon was the first Pokémon whose romaji name exceeded the 12 character nickname limit in Western game releases.
