Lickitung in the anime: Jessie's short-lived catch

Lickitung was the first Pokémon Jessie is shown catching. In "Princess vs. Princess" it gobbles up food Team Rocket bought during the Princess Festival and stuns her Arbok with a lick, and an enraged Jessie catches it. The partnership was rocky and short: in "Tricks of the Trade" her Poké Ball is accidentally swapped at a Pokémon Swap Meet, sending Lickitung to a Trainer named Benny and giving Jessie his Wobbuffet.

Lickitung on cards: from Jungle to a Temporal Forces Illustration Rare

Lickitung's first card is Jungle #38 from June 1999, an Uncommon by Mitsuhiro Arita whose art returned in Base Set 2. Gym Heroes (2000) printed Brock's Lickitung, drawn by Ken Sugimori, and Southern Islands (2001) included it as a Common. Dragon Frontiers (2006) printed Lickitung δ, a Delta Species Rare that plays as a Psychic type instead of Colorless.

Its later printings are mostly Commons and Uncommons, with Sun & Moon contributing four and Diamond & Pearl three. Temporal Forces (2024) printed both a standard Common by nisimono and an Illustration Rare by Orca.
