Honchkrow

Honchkrow in the anime: Paul's Murkrow grown up

In the series, Honchkrow first appeared in a flashback in Lost Leader Strategy!, which revealed that Paul's Murkrow had evolved. It made its first on-screen battle appearance in Aiding the Enemy!, facing Ash's Turtwig. In the film The Rise of Darkrai, a Coordinator named Allegra sent out a Honchkrow to try to clear the fog over Alamos Town with Defog, which failed because the fog came from Palkia's hold on the area.

Honchkrow on cards: LV.X, GX and V

Honchkrow's first English card was a holo rare in Mysterious Treasures (2007), illustrated by Kazuyuki Kano. Secret Wonders followed the same year with a Honchkrow LV.X by Ryo Ueda, the level-up mechanic that defined the Diamond & Pearl era. Later regular printings include a Rare by Mitsuhiro Arita in Supreme Victors and a Rare by kawayoo in Undaunted.

Unbroken Bonds (2019) printed Honchkrow GX three times, all illustrated by sadaji: the regular Ultra Rare, a full art and a Secret Rare. Brilliant Stars (2022) added Honchkrow V as a holo card by PLANETA Mochizuki plus two Ultra Rare full arts, one by PLANETA Mochizuki and one with different artwork by zig. Those GX and V printings are where most collector attention on Honchkrow sits.
