Heatmor expels flames from its mouth to burn through the steel bodies of its preferred prey, Durant, before consuming their insides, and it uses the muffler-like hole in its tail to draw in air to keep its fire burning. Bulbapedia notes Heatmor and Durant were both designed by Ken Sugimori and share the same leveling rate, catch rate, hatch time, base experience yield, base stat total, and gender ratio.
Heatmor made its animated debut in Evolution by Fire!, under the ownership of a trainer named Shamus, who used it alongside his Emboar in Double Battles against both Kylan and Ash. In Jostling for the Junior Cup!, Manning's Heatmor competed in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup, defeating Kenton's Golett before losing to Trip's Serperior.
Heatmor debuted in Noble Victories as an Uncommon illustrated by Kouki Saitou. It has remained mostly an Uncommon card since, including a Dragon Majesty printing by Ken Sugimori, and White Flare later added both a regular printing and an Illustration Rare illustrated by Kariya.

Heatmor cards span 2011 to 2025, and every one of the 14 Heatmor cards carries a market value. The most valuable Heatmor card is the illustration rare from White Flare, printed in 2025, and the ten leading cards hold 98 percent of the total value, so the Heatmor card value story sits almost entirely at the top of the ranking.
The White Flare illustration rare leads Heatmor card value by 10.1 times over the next card, so the gap is wide. An illustration rare is a full-art style card with artwork that extends across the card. Second is the Rare from Dark Explorers in 2012, followed by Uncommons from Plasma Storm in 2013 and Noble Victories in 2011. Dragon Majesty in 2018 rounds out the leading five.
The 2025 White Flare card in the Scarlet & Violet era is the newest era's leader and sits 1st overall. Of the twenty-five leading Heatmor cards, 4 come from Sword & Shield, 4 from Scarlet & Violet, 3 from Black & White and 2 from Sun & Moon. Vintage means the WOTC era and modern is every later era: all 10 of the top ten and all 14 of the top twenty-five are modern.
Among the ten most valuable Heatmor cards, the printed rarities are 6 Uncommon, 2 Common, 1 Illustration rare and 1 Rare. Widening the view to the leading twenty-five Heatmor cards, the count reads 10 Uncommon, 2 Common, 1 Illustration rare and 1 Rare. Uncommon is the most frequent printed rarity in both groups, and the single Illustration rare is the White Flare card that tops the ranking.
By the value of its single leading card, Heatmor ranks 805th of 1020 species with priced cards. By the combined value of its ten leaders, it ranks 702nd of 753. The Heatmor cards market rests on one standout illustration rare, with the rest of the ten leaders clustered far behind it.
