Corphish is a red, lobster-like crustacean with two big gripping pincers, three pairs of walking legs and three spikes on its head. It is a hardy creature able to live in polluted water and eat nearly anything, and along with Feebas it is one of only two known Pokémon able to live in stagnant ditches. Its Ruby Pokédex entry points to the red swamp crayfish, an invasive pest in many countries, and its access to Dragon Dance may nod to the Chinese word for lobster, which means dragon shrimp.
Though found in the Hoenn region, its Pokédex entries claim it originally came from overseas, which would make it the first exotic species in the Pokémon world; not native to Alola, Corphish set free by trainers there have easily adapted and thrived. It also has a catch rate of 205, unique among all Pokémon, and its tendency to say Hey, hey! in spinoff games is a reference to its Japanese name Heigani. It evolves into Crawdaunt at level 30, and the two are the only known Pokémon that do not flee when a swarm of Basculin appears in the lake where they live.
Corphish debuted in Dragon with three separate printings by Ken Sugimori, Kagemaru Himeno, and Hisao Nakamura. Team Magma vs Team Aqua later gave it three Team Aqua's Corphish printings, all illustrated by Jungo Suzuki, Deoxys added a Takao Unno card, Holon Phantoms printed two more by Mitsuhiro Arita and Midori Harada, and the line has continued as a Common through recent sets including the Mega Evolution set, illustrated by Sanosuke Sakuma.

The value across Corphish cards sits in very few hands: the ten leading cards hold 89 percent of the total. The most valuable Corphish card is the Common from Dragon in 2003, and every one of the 18 Corphish cards carries a market value. The cards span 2003 to 2025, and the Corphish card value ranking is led by that Dragon print with a Team Magma vs Team Aqua card close behind.
The Dragon Corphish from 2003 leads Corphish card value, ahead of the next card by 1.1 times, so the top two are close to level. That runner-up is Team Aqua's Corphish, an Uncommon from Team Magma vs Team Aqua in 2004. Two Commons of the same name from that set take 3rd and 4th, and the Deoxys Corphish from 2005 is a Common in 6th. These most valuable Corphish cards are all plain printed rarities rather than holos or special rarities.
Corphish cards in the top 25 come mostly from the EX era, with 9 cards, followed by Sword & Shield with 3 and Diamond & Pearl with 2. XY, Sun & Moon, Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution each place 1. The newest era's leader is the Mega Evolution Corphish from 2025, 18th overall. Vintage here means the WOTC era, and no Corphish card from it reaches the top ten or the top 25: all 10 of the leading cards and 18 of the top 25 are modern.
Among the ten leading Corphish cards, 9 are Commons and 1 is an Uncommon. Widening to the top 25, the count is 17 Commons and 1 Uncommon. No holo, reverse holo, 1st Edition or other special print appears among the leading Corphish cards, so the ranking is built from standard printings across Dragon, Team Magma vs Team Aqua, Deoxys, Holon Phantoms and Legends Awakened.
By the value of its single leading card, Corphish ranks 958th of 1020 species with priced cards, and by the combined value of its ten leaders it ranks 707th of 753. Its evolution line has one other member: Crawdaunt ranks 318th of 1020 by its top card. For Corphish cards, that means the market is a set of closely valued Commons and one Uncommon from the EX era, with the top two nearly level and most of the value held by the first ten.
