Braviary is a large bird Pokémon with dark red back feathers, a crest of three long white feathers, and a long, thick beak. It evolves from Rufflet at level 54, and in Hisui evolves from Rufflet into the larger Hisuian Braviary, whose legs and underside carry dark grey plumage and a jet-shaped tail. Braviary and Rufflet are counterparts to Mandibuzz and Vullaby, sharing evolution levels and Flying typing.
Braviary made his animated series debut in A Surface to Air Tag Battle Team!, owned by Soren, whose Brave Bird became a key part of a combination he called Jet Brave. Other Braviary followed, including Radley's at the Vertress Conference, a Braviary that Ash, his friends and N helped escape from Schwarz and Weiss in Saving Braviary!, and Professor Kukui's in Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon.
Braviary's Black & White era run began with Emerging Powers in 2011 and continued through Dragons Exalted and Plasma Storm, all Rare. BREAKthrough, Steam Siege and Cosmic Eclipse followed before Astral Radiance and Silver Tempest introduced Hisuian Braviary. The Scarlet & Violet era brought Surging Sparks's standard and illustration rare printings, plus Black Bolt's Uncommon and illustration rare pairing.
