Blipbug is an insectoid Pokémon covered in sensitive setae used to gather information about its surroundings, with large reflective eyes that resemble glasses and eyebrow-like markings giving it a surprised expression. It evolves into Dottler at level 10 and then into Orbeetle at level 30.
Blipbug and Grubbin share the category name Larva Pokémon and are each the only pure Bug type of their respective generation, while Blipbug's entire evolutionary line is unusual in staying the same height at every stage.
Blipbug's first cards were two Sword and Shield base set Commons illustrated by nagimiso and Mina Nakai. Shining Fates Shiny Vault added a Kyoko Umemoto Shiny rare, and Battle Styles and Lost Origin brought further Commons by Masakazu Fukuda and Asako Ito. It reached the Scarlet and Violet era with an OKUBO Common in Paradox Rift and a Team Rocket's Blipbug Common by buchi in Destined Rivals.
