Aegislash

Aegislash in the anime: Argus Steel, Sawyer and Wikstrom

Aegislash first appeared in the movie Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction as Argus Steel's main Pokémon, which he often rides for transport. Its series debut came in "Valuable Experience for All!", where Sawyer's Doublade has already evolved; Sawyer used it in his Lumiose Conference battles against Tierno and Ash. In Pokémon Journeys, Kalos Elite Four member Wikstrom has one in "Searching for Chivalry!".

Aegislash on cards: from XY Rares to Paradox Rift ex

Aegislash's first cards arrived in the XY base set in February 2014: two separate Rare printings, #85 and #86, both illustrated by 5ban Graphics. Phantom Forces added an Ultra Rare Aegislash EX by Ayaka Yoshida later that year. The Sword & Shield era gave it a V and VMAX line in Vivid Voltage, illustrated by aky CG Works, including a full art Aegislash V and a Secret Rare VMAX at #190.

Paradox Rift in 2023 printed three versions at once: a Double Rare Aegislash ex, an Ultra Rare full art of the ex by Satoshi Shirai, and a separate Illustration Rare of plain Aegislash by Takumi Wada. Mitsuhiro Arita, best known for the Base Set Charizard, drew its Uncommon in Perfect Order.
