Tool Scrapper

What it does

Tool Scrapper lets a player clear up to 2 Pokémon Tool cards from any Pokémon in play, whether their own or the opponent's, useful against Tool-dependent strategies. The two wordings describe the same effect, with Rebel Clash dropping 'cards' and 'in play' and updating the apostrophe style.

Printing history

Tool Scrapper first appeared in Dragons Exalted in 2012 with art by Ryo Ueda. Studio Bora Inc. illustrated every printing since, including a Secret Rare in Rebel Clash and later appearances in White Flare, Ascended Heroes, and an Ultra Rare treatment in Chaos Rising during the Mega Evolution era.

Printings in detail

Our catalog lists 6 printings of Tool Scrapper across 5 sets, spanning the Black and White era through the Mega Evolution era, with rarities ranging from Uncommon and Common up to Secret Rare and Ultra Rare. Because it can target either player's Pokémon, a player can also use it to clear their own Tools. Its regular printing shifted from Uncommon in Dragons Exalted, Rebel Clash and White Flare to Common in Ascended Heroes, and nearly eight years passed between the Dragons Exalted debut and the Rebel Clash return. Its consistent Studio Bora Inc. artwork since Rebel Clash reflects a stable visual identity for the card across the Sword and Shield, Scarlet and Violet, and Mega Evolution eras.
