Hyper Potion trades Energy for healing. The Skyridge wording let a player discard 1 or 2 basic Energy cards from a chosen Pokémon, removing up to 3 or 5 damage counters respectively depending on how many were discarded. The Sword and Shield wording instead requires the target Pokémon to already have at least 2 Energy attached, healing a flat 120 damage and discarding 2 Energy only if healing occurred.
The card debuted in the WOTC era's Skyridge with art by Katsura Tabata, then was reclassified as an Item card in the Sword and Shield era's own-named set with new art by Ryo Ueda. It was reprinted in Champion's Path with the same artwork. Our catalog lists 3 printings.
Hyper Potion's Japanese name is written entirely in hiragana, while the in-game item's Japanese name is partly katakana, though both are read the same way.
