Gym Badge is a coin-flip draw card: keep flipping until tails and draw a card for each heads. Its text also carries the standard reminder that you may play as many Item cards as you like before attacking, and all 8 catalogued printings share this one wording.
All 8 catalogued printings are XY Black Star Promos illustrated by 5ban Graphics. In Japan the card had 16 prints; 8 of them feature Hoenn's Gym Leaders as they appear in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and were awarded at events around the 2015 Rayquaza Mega Battle.
In Japan, players who took part in the Rayquaza Pre-Battle, held at Pokémon Card Gym venues and Pokémon Centers between April 1 and 30, 2015, received a Hoenn print exclusive to their region. The Roxanne print went to Pokémon Center Nagoya and Gym venues in prefectures including Hokkaido and Niigata, and the Brawly print to Pokémon Center Osaka and venues in Tochigi, Ibaraki, Chiba and Tokyo. The Wattson print went to Pokémon Center Fukuoka and venues in Gunma, Saitama, Nagano, Yamanashi and Kanagawa, and the Tate and Liza print to Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo and venues in Hyogo, Tottori, Okayama, Hiroshima and Yamaguchi. In the games, a badge shows that a Trainer has defeated a Gym Leader.
