Rose runs the Galar Pokémon League and the Macro Cosmos group of companies, and he is the one who endorsed a young Leon for the Gym Challenge. Convinced that Galar will run out of energy in the distant future, he decides to solve the problem now by harnessing Eternatus, the Legendary Pokémon behind Galar's ancient Darkest Day.
He interrupts the Champion Cup final to announce that he has summoned Eternatus and will bring about the Darkest Day. Leon fails to catch it, and the player, Hop, Zacian and Zamazenta stop Eternatus instead. Rose afterward turns himself in, and Leon succeeds him as chairman.
