Opal leads the Ballonlea Gym, battles with Fairy types and awards the Fairy Badge. Official material gives her age as 88.
After her Gym battle she escorts the player to Hammerlocke, where she spots Bede and immediately decides he is a worthy successor, taking him back to Ballonlea with her. By the time of the Champion Cup she has officially handed the Fairy-type Gym Leader role to him.
Vivid Voltage (2020) introduced the Opal Supporter in three printings: an Uncommon illustrated by take, and an Ultra Rare and Secret Rare pair illustrated by Naoki Saito. Lost Origin's Trainer Gallery subset (2022) added a fourth version, an Ultra Rare illustrated by Taira Akitsu, nearly two years later.
All four Opal printings are the same Supporter, drawn by take, Naoki Saito and Taira Akitsu. The run splits into one Uncommon and three rarer versions, the same shape as the Vivid Voltage and Trainer Gallery run of Allister.
The original Uncommon printing, illustrated by take.
The Secret Rare version from the same set, illustrated by Naoki Saito.
A Trainer Gallery printing with separate artwork by Taira Akitsu.
