Goodra evolves from Sliggoo at level 50 when leveled up during rain in the overworld, and it is the only pseudo-legendary Pokémon whose evolution method requires more than simple leveling. The Hisuian regional form instead has a large, spiral metallic shell it can retreat into, differing from the smooth, purple Kalosian Goodra with its curled horns and slime-covered limbs.
Ash's Sliggoo evolved into a Goodra in Good Friends, Great Training! using Rain Dance, and it went on to compete at the Lumiose Conference. In Aim For The Eight!, a trainer named Raihan used his Goodra against Ash's Gigantamax Gengar, and Diantha's Goodra also appeared during a battle in It's... Champion Time!.
Goodra debuted in Flashfire as a Rare illustrated by 5ban Graphics. Lost Origin later gave its Hisuian form a full V and VSTAR treatment, including an Ultra Rare V and a Secret Rare VSTAR, both illustrated by 5ban Graphics.
