Ekans

Ekans in the anime

Jessie received an Ekans as a gift before the series began, and it appeared in Pokémon Emergency!, marking the species' first animated appearance; it later evolved into Arbok in Dig Those Diglett! to please her. Multiple Ekans were captured by Rico in A Poached Ego!, prompting Jessie's Arbok and James's Weezing to protect them, and a Team Skull Grunt's Ekans was defeated twice by Ilima's Eevee across two episodes.
