Chatot is an avian Pokémon resembling a parakeet, with a black head shaped like an eighth note and a black tail shaped like a metronome, brightly colored plumage, and a white ruff of feathers around its neck. Its tongue resembles a human's, letting it imitate human speech and mimic other Pokémon's cries as a defense mechanism, arranging learned sounds into its own melody while flicking its tail to keep rhythm. It is the only known Pokémon able to learn the move Chatter, and it is the only Pokémon that is not Legendary or Mythical to be banned from Generation 5's Global Battle Union, likely because Chatter could play recorded audio that could be abused for vulgar phrases.
Ada's Chatot appeared in Strategy Tomorrow - Comedy Tonight, marking the species' animated series appearance, with a habit of flying to a local hospital to entertain children and always staying outside its Poke Ball. In Stealing the Conversation!, Officer Jenny's Chatot, nicknamed Buddy, was kidnapped by Team Rocket, and in All Dressed Up With Somewhere To Go!, a Chatot won a Pokémon Dress-Up Contest by singing like a Jigglypuff and a Lapras.
Chatot's first card was a 2007 Diamond & Pearl Common illustrated by Ken Sugimori, and Kagemaru Himeno drew its Majestic Dawn card. Supreme Victors gave it both a Chatot G Uncommon and a standard Common in the same set, and its Scarlet & Violet era run includes an Illustration Rare in Temporal Forces illustrated by Scav.

No, Chatot has no evolutionary relatives.
Its move Chatter could play recorded audio that could be abused for vulgar phrases, the likely reason for its Generation 5 Global Battle Union ban.
