Arctibax freezes the air around it into an ice mask over its mouth and eyes, and coats its dorsal fin in sharp ice to make a blade. Strong back and leg muscles let it front-flip and slash with that fin in midair, and it is rarely seen in the wild. It is the only member of its line that cannot learn Dragon Claw by leveling up, which Bulbapedia suggests was an oversight given the level gap between Ice Fang and Take Down. Arctibax and its relatives are also the only Ice types in the Dragon Egg Group.
It may be based on the Spinosaurus or the Spain-discovered Concavenator, whose back crest is thought to have aided thermoregulation, along with other sail-backed prehistoric animals such as Ouranosaurus, Arizonasaurus, or Dimetrodon.
Arctibax has an SVP Black Star promo by Teeziro, and Paldea Evolved gave it an Uncommon by Kouki Saitou and an Illustration Rare by Tomokazu Komiya. Paldean Fates later introduced a Shiny rare Arctibax, again by Kouki Saitou.
Arctibax's earliest non-promo card, an Uncommon from Paldea Evolved illustrated by Kouki Saitou.
An Illustration Rare Arctibax from the same set, illustrated by Tomokazu Komiya.
A Shiny rare Arctibax from Paldean Fates.
It evolves from Frigibax at level 35 and into Baxcalibur at level 54.
It is the only member of its line unable to learn Dragon Claw by leveling up.
