Larry in Scarlet and Violet: one man, two League jobs

Larry is a businessman who works for Paldea's Pokémon League under Geeta, who gave him two roles. As Medali's Gym Leader he uses Normal types, which he feels suit his ordinary image; as a member of the Elite Four he uses Flying types at Geeta's request. He sees himself as an average person, believes simplicity is strongest and is fixated on food: his Gym battle takes place at Medali's Treasure Eatery, and he treats the player to a meal after losing.

At the Gym he fields Komala and Dudunsparce, then a Staraptor that Terastallizes to the Normal type. His Elite Four team is Tropius, Oricorio, Altaria, Staraptor and a Flamigo that Terastallizes to the Flying type. Staraptor is on every team he uses, which is why it reads as his signature Pokémon.

Larry on cards: two Supporters, then a team

Larry's Supporter debuted in Paradox Rift (November 2023) as a Common and a full art Ultra Rare, both by Akira Komayama; it flips a coin and searches the deck for up to two Pokémon on heads, or one Basic Pokémon on tails. Prismatic Evolutions (2025) added Larry's Skill, a Supporter that discards the hand to search for a Pokémon, a Supporter and a Basic Energy, again as a Common and a full art Ultra Rare, by hncl.

Ascended Heroes (January 2026) gave him a team of Pokémon cards: Larry's Dunsparce and the Double Rare Larry's Dudunsparce ex, Larry's Starly, Staravia and Staraptor, Larry's Rufflet and Braviary, and Larry's Komala. Larry's Staraptor also has an Illustration Rare by kantaro.

How collectors approach Larry's cards

Larry's run is recent and compact: two Supporters from the Scarlet & Violet era, then one large wave of Pokémon cards in Ascended Heroes. The full art Ultra Rares of Larry and Larry's Skill and the Illustration Rare Larry's Staraptor are his highest-rarity printings so far.
