Guzma leads Team Skull and specializes in Bug types. He first appears in Malie Garden taunting Professor Kukui, dismissing the idea of an Alola League and calling himself the strongest Trainer in the region. The player later beats him at the Shady House in Po Town, his gang's headquarters, and again at Aether Paradise, where it emerges that Lusamine has been directing Team Skull all along.
Lusamine drags him with her into Ultra Space, where a Nihilego he tried to catch takes control of him. After the Champion battle it is revealed he has disbanded Team Skull, and he challenges the player once more at Hau'oli City's beachfront before Hala offers to train him. Hints in his parents' home on Route 2 show a Trainer who once won trophies and never became a captain.
His game teams are built on Golisopod and Ariados, adding Masquerain and Pinsir in later battles. In the anime he debuts in The Dealer of Destruction!, where his Golisopod's Emergency Exit ability cuts short a battle with Ash's Pikachu, and he later enters the Manalo Conference with Scizor and Golisopod, losing to Ash in the semifinals.
Guzma is a Supporter that swaps one of the opponent's Benched Pokémon into their Active Spot, then lets you switch your own Active Pokémon with one from your Bench. Burning Shadows (2017) printed it as an Uncommon by Ken Sugimori and a full-art Ultra Rare by Masakazu Fukuda, and the Hidden Fates Shiny Vault (2019) added a version drawn by Hitoshi Ariga.

Guzma is the boss of Team Skull in Pokémon Sun and Moon, a Bug-type Trainer who turns out to be working for Lusamine. His Supporter card, from Burning Shadows (2017), switches both players' Active Pokémon and was printed again in the Hidden Fates Shiny Vault (2019).
No published index yet — too few of Guzma’s cards trade often enough to strike one.
