Metang

Metang in animation: Morrison, Alain and Sophocles

Metang debuted in the anime in "Saved by the Beldum," when Morrison's Beldum evolved mid-battle during the Ever Grande Conference, the Hoenn League tournament Ash also entered. In the XY series, Alain's Metang beat Ash's Noivern in "The Synchronicity Test!" and had evolved into Metagross by "Analysis Versus Passion!" In Sun and Moon, Sophocles rode a Metang on Ultra Guardians missions starting with "A Mission of Ultra Urgency!"

Metang on cards: Hidden Legends to Chaos Rising

Metang's early cards include a Nintendo Black Star promo and two cards in Hidden Legends (2004): #21, a Rare by Mitsuhiro Arita, and #44, an Uncommon by Ken Sugimori. The EX era accounts for eight of its 27 printings in our catalog, including Metang δ in Delta Species (2005), which plays as a Lightning type.

Most Metang cards are Uncommons. The exceptions are a Shiny rare in the Hidden Fates Shiny Vault (2019), illustrated by Saya Tsuruta, and an Illustration rare by Kurata So in the Mega Evolution era's Chaos Rising (2026).
