Barbaracle evolves from Binacle at level 39, as two Binacle multiply into seven independently thinking parts, each limb with its own eye, letting the whole body see in all directions at once. Its Mega Evolution, which changes its typing to Rock/Fighting, uses the Barbaracite stone introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Barbaracle made its animated debut in A Stealthy Challenge! under the ownership of Saizo, who used it to battle Ash's Froakie and Sanpei's Greninja. It later reappeared in A Festival of Decisions!, defeating Heidayu's Bisharp.
Barbaracle's first card was a Flashfire Rare illustrated by 5ban Graphics, followed by a Shin Nagasawa Rare in Fates Collide. The Sun and Moon era's Forbidden Light and Sword and Shield era's Rebel Clash and Lost Origin added further prints, the last a Holo Rare by KEIICHIRO ITO. It reached the Mega Evolution era with a Perfect Order Uncommon by Kazumasa Yasukuni and an MEP Black Star promo by Hasuno.
