Aromatisse physically debuted in Battling with Elegance and a Big Smile! under the ownership of reigning Kalos Queen Aria, appearing throughout Pokémon the Series: XY, and another Aromatisse appeared in Pikachu and the Pokémon Music Squad, noticing a fight over a Pecha Berry. It was designed by Saya Tsuruta and can be seen as a parallel to Slurpuff, both Generation VI Fairy types that evolve from trading with a held item.
