Arboliva shares its nutrient-rich, aromatic oil with weakened Pokémon out of a calm and compassionate nature, but can launch oil forcefully enough to destroy a boulder when threatened. It may be based on an olive tree and on dryads such as the Hamadryad, with its wreath pose evoking the olive branch's symbolism of peace.
A giant Arboliva debuted at the end of Nemona and Brassius and..., later reappearing as the guardian of Arboliva's Forest. After the Rising Volt Tacklers helped heal wildfire damage to the forest, it returned to its Ancient Poke Ball and was revealed to be one of Lucius's Pokémon and one of the Six Heroes.
Arboliva's earliest card was a Rare in Scarlet and Violet illustrated by Kouki Saitou, followed by an Obsidian Flames printing and a Shiny rare in Paldean Fates. Destined Rivals later added both a Double Rare and an Ultra Rare Arboliva ex, each illustrated by PLANETA Tsuji.
