Lost Thunder is an expansion in the Sun & Moon era of the English-language Pokémon TCG, released on November 2, 2018 under the set code LOT. It is a big release: 214 official cards plus 22 secret cards above that number, for 236 printings in all. The set is built around GX cards, with Alolan Ninetales GX, Blacephalon GX, Genesect GX, Lugia GX and Magcargo GX each printed in three versions. Mimikyu GX and Lugia GX also lead the most valuable cards, and the Pokémon types it leans on most are Grass, Fairy, Psychic and Water.
Lost Thunder's pull ladder runs from commons, uncommons and rares up to 33 Ultra Rare cards and 22 Secret Rares, which number past the printed 214 and make up 55 chase-tier cards in total. The Secret Rare Mimikyu GX, illustrated by 5ban Graphics, is the most valuable card in the set, followed by the Secret Rare Lugia GX by PLANETA Igarashi and the Ultra Rare Professor Elm's Lecture by Hideki Ishikawa. The Ultra Rare Lugia GX completes the leading four. Value is spread more evenly than in many sets, since the top five cards hold 36 percent of total card value.

A full Lost Thunder run is 236 printings, and all 236 are priced. With the top five cards holding 36 percent of total value, the cost of a complete set is shaped by the Secret Rare and Ultra Rare GX cards, while the long commons-to-rares base adds comparatively little. The sealed line has 18 products, including a booster box, an Elite Trainer Box, a Build & Battle Box, a Premium Collection, blisters and booster packs, which suits collectors who prefer to open product rather than buy singles.
