Most Valuable Rayquaza Pokemon Cards: A Price Guide
Seven Rayquaza cards carried a TCGplayer market price of $750 or more on September 26, 2026, led by Evolving Skies' alternate art VMAX at $1,255.44, with three 2005 EX-era prints and two reverse holo finishes inside the top seven.
Rayquaza VMAX 218/203, the Evolving Skies alternate art Secret Rare, is the most valuable Rayquaza card on TCGplayer's market. Its market price was $1,255.44 as of September 26, 2026.
Right behind it is a card sixteen years older: the reverse holo Rayquaza 22/107 from 2005's EX Deoxys, at $1,193.00. Seven Rayquaza cards in total carried a TCGplayer market price of $750.00 or more that day, and four of them cleared $1,000.
This guide ranks those seven against each other on a single dated read, covering every English Rayquaza card and finish that carried a TCGplayer market price that day.
Every figure below is TCGplayer's published market price for a raw, ungraded copy, as of September 26, 2026. Where a card is sold in more than one finish, each finish is priced separately, and the finish shown is the one that ranks.

The top five sit within $256.44 of each other, from $1,255.44 down to $999.00. The steepest single step in the table comes after fifth place: $199.01 between Rayquaza ex 102/107 and the Emerald reverse holo.
How to read these numbers
A TCGplayer market price is a single figure per card and finish, not a guaranteed sale price. For two of the seven, the lowest listing on September 26 sat above the market price: $1,078.45 for the Emerald reverse holo and $1,000.00 for the Shiny SL10.
That gap is worth knowing before treating any figure in this table as a buy or sell level. It is a dated snapshot, and TCGplayer's figures will have moved since.
The card links in this guide open Cardboard Alpha's own page for each printing. Those pages update on their own schedule, so the figure and the finish they show may not match the ones quoted here.
TCGplayer market price $999.00 (raw), September 26, 2026, fifth in this guide.
The reverse holo premium
Two of the seven only make the list because of their finish. TCGplayer prices the same card number separately for each finish, and for these two 2005 Rayquaza prints the gap is large.

$42.19 (Normal)
$1,193.00
Rayquaza 9/106, EX Emerald

The EX Deoxys reverse holo is priced more than 28 times its standard print. The Emerald gap is smaller, $368.67, but still enough to move the card from outside the top seven to sixth.
None of this guide's sources establishes why the market values these reverse holos so far above their standard counterparts. What the numbers do show is that, for these two cards, the finish matters as much as the card number when reading a price.
On September 26, 2026, 218/203 carried a market price of $1,255.44 and 217/203 carried $108.89. Same Pokemon, same set, same rarity tier, and the alternate art print was priced more than 11 times as high.

Call of Legends places two cards
Call of Legends, from 2011, is the only set besides EX Deoxys with two cards in the ranking. The standard Rayquaza 20/95 holo ranks fourth at $1,013.27, and the Shiny Rayquaza SL10 ranks seventh at $750.00.
On this read, the regular holo was priced $263.27 above the shiny subset card from the same set.

Rayquaza's TCG history in brief
Rayquaza debuted in the Pokemon TCG in the EX Dragon expansion and has recurred across many of the rarity systems the game has introduced since (Bulbapedia, accessed September 27, 2026).
EX era: Rayquaza ex, Rayquaza Star, and the Delta Species Rayquaza δ prints.
DP and HGSS eras: Rayquaza C and Rayquaza C LV.X, and the Rayquaza & Deoxys LEGEND pair.
BW and XY eras: Rayquaza-EX and M Rayquaza-EX.
Sun and Moon onward: Shining Rayquaza, Rayquaza-GX, Rayquaza V, and Rayquaza VMAX.
The Gold Star Rayquaza, Rayquaza Star 107/107 from EX Deoxys, had no TCGplayer market price on September 26, 2026, so it is not ranked. Its absence from the table is not a judgment on its value.
PSA and CGC population reports and auction-house realized sales were not read for this guide. Every figure above is a raw, ungraded TCGplayer market price from a single dated read, not a trend and not a graded value.

Frequently asked questions
What is the most valuable Rayquaza card right now?
Rayquaza VMAX 218/203, the Evolving Skies alternate art Secret Rare, carried a TCGplayer market price of $1,255.44 as of September 26, 2026. The reverse holo Rayquaza 22/107 from 2005's EX Deoxys was second at $1,193.00 on the same read.
Why is the reverse holo Deoxys Rayquaza worth so much more than the regular one?
Rayquaza 22/107 from EX Deoxys is the same card number in two finishes. As of September 26, 2026, TCGplayer's market price was $1,193.00 for the reverse holo and $42.19 for the standard print, more than 28 times apart. None of this guide's sources establishes why the market prices the two finishes so differently.
Why does Evolving Skies' other Rayquaza VMAX not appear in the top seven?
217/203 and 218/203 are both Rayquaza VMAX Secret Rares from Evolving Skies, but TCGplayer lists 218/203 as the alternate art print. As of September 26, 2026, 218/203 had a market price of $1,255.44 against $108.89 for 217/203, which leaves 217/203 far below the $750.00 cutoff of the top seven.
Is the Gold Star Rayquaza included in this ranking?
No. TCGplayer's published price data carried no market price for Rayquaza Star 107/107 from EX Deoxys on September 26, 2026, so it could not be ranked on the same basis as the other cards. Its absence from the table is not a statement about its value.
Does this guide list PSA 10 or other graded prices?
No. Every figure here is a raw, ungraded TCGplayer market price. PSA and CGC population reports and auction-house realized prices were not read for this guide, so no graded dollar amount or population count appears in it.
