Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the EX era.
Unseen Forces arrived on August 22, 2005, as an expansion in the EX era of the English-language Pokémon TCG, and its set code is UF. It prints 115 cards, with 2 secret cards on top for 117 in total, and the full catalog lists 143 printings. The headline cards are Lugia ex, Celebi ex, Umbreon ex and Tyranitar ex, joined by the Johto trio of Raikou, Suicune and Entei in their Star versions. Psychic, Colorless, Grass and Water are the types it leans on most.
The Unseen Forces card list is built on a ladder from commons and uncommons up through rares and holo rares, and the two secret cards sit above the printed 115. Lugia ex is the most valuable card, followed by the Star cards Raikou, Suicune and Entei, with Celebi ex fifth. Masakazu Fukuda illustrated all three of the Star cards, and Hikaru Koike illustrated Lugia ex. Value is fairly concentrated, as the top five cards hold 53 percent of the set's total card value, so these chase cards decide most of what the set is worth.
Unseen Forces was released August 22, 2005.
Unseen Forces has 143 cards.
Unseen Forces is part of the EX era.
As of October 2026, Unseen Forces holds the 3rd highest total card value of the 16 comparable EX sets, about 2.6 times the era median, and it ranks 6th across the 130 sets in the game. Its most valuable card ranks 4th among the era's single most valuable cards, while trading activity places it 12th in the era. At 115 printed cards it sits about level with the era median of 107. It followed Emerald, which holds less total value, and came before Delta Species, which also holds less. Its cards first appeared in Japan in Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean, released April 8, 2005, with 100 shared cards.

A complete Unseen Forces run means 143 printings, and all 143 are priced, so the whole card list can be tracked. Because the top five cards carry 53 percent of the set's total card value, the cost of finishing the set is driven largely by Lugia ex and the three Star cards, while the commons, uncommons and most rares make up the cheaper bulk. Sealed product for the set lists 4 items, covering a booster box, a booster pack and a pair of decks.
