Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the XY era.
Roaring Skies is the English-language Pokémon TCG expansion in the XY era, released on May 6, 2015 under the set code ROS. It carries 108 official cards, with 4 secret cards numbered above that count, for 112 printings in all. The set is built around its headline cards: M Rayquaza EX, Rayquaza EX and Shaymin EX each appear three times across different versions, with Altaria and Articuno printed twice. Its Pokémon lean on Colorless, Dragon, Grass and Psychic types, which fits a release centred on the Hoenn dragon.
Roaring Skies reaches its top end through 22 Ultra Rare cards and 2 Secret Rares, the secret numbers sitting past the printed 108. M Rayquaza EX in Ultra Rare form, illustrated by 5ban Graphics, is the most valuable card, followed by the Rare Shaymin EX from Ayaka Yoshida and Ryo Ueda's Rayquaza EX. Two more M Rayquaza EX versions take 4th and 5th place. Value is tightly packed at the top: the five leading cards hold 66 percent of the set's total card value.

Trading activity places it 9th, and across the whole game it sits 69th of 130 sets by total value. At 108 printed cards it runs about the same size as the era median of 113. It followed Double Crisis, which holds less total value, and came before Ancient Origins, which holds more. Most of its cards are shared with Emerald Break, the Japanese set that first carried 60 of them on March 14, 2015.

The full run is 112 printings, all of them priced. With two thirds of the set's value sitting in five cards, the cost of a complete Roaring Skies collection is driven mostly by the M Rayquaza EX versions, Shaymin EX and Rayquaza EX, while the commons, uncommons and rares that make up most of the card list add little. The sealed line covers 19 products, including a booster box, an Elite Trainer Box, tins, blisters, decks and a Premium Collection.
