Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the EX era.
POP Series 4 sits in the EX era of the English-language Pokémon TCG as a promotional collection, released on August 1, 2006 under the set code P4. It is a compact run of 17 cards with no secret cards above the printed count. The card list leans on Psychic, Colorless, Grass and Water Pokémon, and its headline cards are Chimecho δ, Deoxys ex and Sceptile. Like other promotional runs of the period, it mixes common and uncommon cards with a short block of rares, so its identity comes from which Pokémon it features rather than from any ladder of chase rarities.
The most valuable cards in POP Series 4 all sit at the rare end of a short rarity range of six commons, five uncommons and six rares, with no dedicated chase tier. Chimecho δ leads the set, with Masakazu Fukuda credited as illustrator, followed by Deoxys ex and Sceptile, both rares, and then the uncommon Pokémon Fan Club trainer and Mew. Value is heavily concentrated: the top five cards alone hold 80 percent of the set's total card value, so the remaining dozen cards add comparatively little. Fukuda also illustrated the most cards in the set with three, ahead of Atsuko Nishida and Hisao Nakamura with two each.
POP Series 4 was released August 1, 2006.
POP Series 4 has 17 cards.
POP Series 4 is part of the EX era.
As of October 2026, POP Series 4 holds the 3rd highest total card value of the 10 comparable EX-era sets, about 3.1 times the era median, and its Chimecho δ ranks 3rd among the era's single most valuable cards. Trading activity is more modest, placing it 7th in the era. Its 17 printed cards match the era median, and across the whole game it ranks 14th by total card value among 35 comparable sets. It followed POP Series 3, which holds less total value, and came before Basic Energy (2007 copyright). Sixteen of its cards first appeared in the Japanese PCG-P Promotional cards, released February 1, 2004.

Completing POP Series 4 means tracking down 17 catalog printings, and all 17 are priced. Because the top five cards carry 80 percent of the set's total card value, the cost of a complete set is driven almost entirely by those few rares and the Pokémon Fan Club uncommon, while the commons are a minor part of the total. Collectors working from the card list will find the other dozen cards far easier to place. The set also has a single sealed product listed, classed as other sealed rather than a conventional booster box.
