Value is concentrated in the POP Series 1 master set, and that shapes how the whole job reads. It takes 24 slots against the 17 cards in the set, an average of 1.4 slots per card. Seventeen of those slots are normal prints and 7 are holos. Laid out nine to a side, the full master set checklist fills just 2 double-sided binder pages, a compact project for an EX era release from September 1, 2004 in the English-language Pokémon TCG.
The extra slots in the POP Series 1 master set come from one added family: 17 normal prints, plus a holo family of 7. There is no reverse holo layer and no stamped or edition family, so the open question for each of the 17 cards is whether a holo print exists alongside the normal one. A holo here is the same card on a foil-patterned face, and for master set purposes it is its own binder slot, separate from the normal print of that card.
| Variant family | Slots | Priced | Share of value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | 17 | 17 | 46% |
| Holo | 7 | 7 | 54% |
All 24 slots in the POP Series 1 master set carry a price as of October 24, 2026, and the value is heavily top-weighted. The ten most valuable slots hold 90 percent of the master set cost, while the lower-value half of the priced slots holds only 7 percent. By finish, holos make up 54 percent of the total and normal prints 46 percent, which is notable given there are far fewer holo slots. Condition matters too: an LP and up master set sits 69 percent below the Near Mint total, and an MP and up set sits 76 percent below it.

Five slots hold 76 percent of the master set's total value, and they decide whether the POP Series 1 master set gets finished. The top slot is the normal print of Rayquaza, a Rare. Next come the holo of Tyranitar ex and the holo of Rayquaza, both Rares and both variants rather than a card's main print. The normal Tyranitar ex follows in fourth, and the holo Blaziken, another Rare variant, rounds out the five. The surprise is that three of the five hardest slots are holo variants of cards whose normal prints are already in the binder.
At 24 slots, the POP Series 1 master set is about equal to the EX era median of 24 slots, so the size is typical even though the card count is small. By master set value it ranks 5th of the 10 comparable sets in its era. The previous set, Poké Card Creator Pack, is a much lighter job at 5 slots. The next set, POP Series 2, matches it at 24 slots, and its master set holds lower value than this one.

A POP Series 1 master set is one copy of every card AND every variant in the set — the 17 cards on this page, with their Normal, Reverse Holo and Holo prints each listed and priced on their own. Sign in and the checklist tracks what you own, in step with the Cardboard Alpha app.
The large NM-only figure is a complete catalog estimate when every printing has current NM pricing. LP, MP, HP, and DMG “and up” totals below it use the requested condition or a better available condition. These are summed reference prices, not a quote from one seller; a dash means the current market does not cover every printing yet.
“LP and up” means lightly played or better: the total uses LP when available, then NM as the better-condition fallback. The MP, HP, and DMG tiers follow the same pattern.
