Paldean Fates is led by Special illustration rare versions of Mew ex, Charizard ex and Gardevoir ex, and those three headline cards set its character. This expansion belongs to the Scarlet & Violet era of the English-language Pokémon TCG and was released on January 26, 2024 under the set code PAF. It has 91 official cards, with 154 secret cards numbered above that count, for 245 printings in all. The Paldean Fates card list is dominated by shiny cards: the Shiny rare tier is by far the largest rarity, followed by Shiny Ultra Rare, Double rare, Special illustration rare, Hyper rare and Ultra Rare cards, 164 chase-tier cards in all. Most of those sit in the secret range above the printed 91. The most valuable cards are Mew ex, Charizard ex and Gardevoir ex, all Special illustration rares illustrated by USGMEN, AKIRA EGAWA and Kuroimori in that order. A complete Paldean Fates master set runs to 245 printings, and all 245 are priced. Because the top five cards carry 57 percent of the set's total card value, the cost of finishing it depends mostly on the three Special illustration rares and a couple of Shiny rares, while the long tail of shiny cards, commons and uncommons is a smaller part of the whole. Sealed product is plentiful, with 37 items including Elite Trainer Boxes, tins and mini tins, Premium Collections, displays and booster bundles.
