The variants are what turn Hidden Legends from a 102-card set into a 240-slot master set: 101 official cards plus one secret rare, with each card adding about 2.4 slots on average. Normal prints account for 115 slots, reverse holos for 92 and holos for 33. Laid out nine to a side, the full master set checklist fills 14 double-sided binder pages. It is a mid-sized job for an EX era set from the English-language Pokémon TCG, released on June 1, 2004.
The reverse holo family is the largest block in the Hidden Legends master set at 92 slots, and it reaches across Uncommon, Common, Holo Rare and Rare cards, so many of the set's rarities carry an extra slot. Beyond the plain normal and holo prints sit the Holo Foil Cracked Ice slots, a special foil treatment that adds 8 slots. Several normal-print families are named for a person, among them Michael Gonzalez, Takashi Yoneda, Jeremy Maron and Chris Fulop, and each is a separate slot a master set needs beside the standard print.

Master set cost in Hidden Legends leans on the foil slots: reverse holos hold 46 percent of the total value and holos 44 percent, leaving normal prints with just 10 percent. The ten most valuable slots hold 36 percent of the total, while the lower-value half of the priced slots adds up to only 6 percent. Prices exist for 226 of the 240 slots. As of October 24, 2026, a Lightly Played and up master set totals 29 percent below the Near Mint total, and a Moderately Played and up set sits 54 percent below it.

The hardest slots in the Hidden Legends master set are all main-print holos of ex cards at Rare rarity, with no variant surprise among them. Groudon ex leads, followed by Ninetales ex, Regice ex, Registeel ex and Kyogre ex. Together these five holo slots hold 22 percent of the master set's total value, so finishing them settles a large part of the cost. For a master set collector, the ex holos are the slots to plan around, since the rest of the checklist is far more evenly priced.
At 240 slots, the Hidden Legends master set is about equal to the EX era median of 234, so it is an average-sized job for its era. It ranks 14th by master set value among the 16 comparable sets of the era, which puts it near the lower-value end. Its neighbours both hold higher-value master sets: Team Magma vs Team Aqua, with 204 slots, and FireRed & LeafGreen, with 276 slots. The set asks for less binder space than FireRed & LeafGreen and carries more slots than Team Magma vs Team Aqua.

A Hidden Legends master set is one copy of every card AND every variant in the set — the 102 cards on this page, with their Normal, Reverse Holo and Holo prints each listed and priced on their own. Sign in and the checklist tracks what you own, in step with the Cardboard Alpha app.
The large NM-only figure is a complete catalog estimate when every printing has current NM pricing. LP, MP, HP, and DMG “and up” totals below it use the requested condition or a better available condition. These are summed reference prices, not a quote from one seller; a dash means the current market does not cover every printing yet.
“LP and up” means lightly played or better: the total uses LP when available, then NM as the better-condition fallback. The MP, HP, and DMG tiers follow the same pattern.
