The Guardians Rising master set takes 287 slots, set against 169 cards: 145 official numbers plus 24 secret rares above the official count. Each card adds about 1.7 slots on average. Reverse holos make up 118 of the slots, normal prints 103 and holos 66. Laid out at nine cards a side, the full master set checklist fills 16 double-sided binder pages. For a Sun & Moon era expansion from the English-language Pokémon TCG, released May 5, 2017, that is a moderate binder project rather than a sprawling one.
The Guardians Rising master set is built from only three variant families: Reverse Holo with 118 slots, Normal with 103 and Holo with 66. There are no stamped or special print runs to chase, so the extra slots come from reverse holo copies. These are carried by the Rare, Uncommon and Common cards, which is why the reverse holo family is the largest. A reverse holo is the same card printed with the foil pattern on the card face rather than the art box, and in a master set it counts as its own slot.
| Variant family | Slots | Priced | Share of value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reverse Holo | 118 | 118 | 11% |
| Normal | 103 | 103 | 2.9% |
| Holo | 66 | 66 | 86% |
The Guardians Rising master set cost is heavily concentrated, with prices carried by 287 of the 287 slots as of October 24, 2026. The ten most valuable slots hold 50 percent of the total value. By finish, holos account for 87 percent, reverse holos for 10 percent and normal prints for just 3 percent. The lower-value half of the priced slots adds up to only 3 percent. Condition matters too: an LP and up master set sits 21 percent below the Near Mint total, and an MP and up set sits 38 percent below it.

A handful of holo prints decide how hard it is to finish the Guardians Rising master set. The Secret Rare Sylveon GX holo ranks first by value, followed by the Secret Rare Metagross GX and the Secret Rare Alolan Ninetales GX. The Ultra Rare Sylveon GX holo comes 4th and the Secret Rare Primarina GX holo 5th. Together the five hardest slots hold 37 percent of the master set's total value. All of them are main holo prints rather than variants, so the difficulty here sits with the secret rares rather than hidden reverse holos.
At 287 slots, the Guardians Rising master set is about equal to the era median of 292 slots, so the job is typical for Sun & Moon. By master set value it ranks 11th among the 16 comparable sets of its era. The previous set, Sun & Moon, runs to 296 slots and its master set holds lower value. The next set, Burning Shadows, takes 289 slots and its master set holds higher value. Binder planning is nearly the same across all three.

A Guardians Rising master set is one copy of every card AND every variant in the set — the 169 cards on this page, with their Normal, Reverse Holo and Holo prints each listed and priced on their own. Sign in and the checklist tracks what you own, in step with the Cardboard Alpha app.
The large NM-only figure is a complete catalog estimate when every printing has current NM pricing. LP, MP, HP, and DMG “and up” totals below it use the requested condition or a better available condition. These are summed reference prices, not a quote from one seller; a dash means the current market does not cover every printing yet.
“LP and up” means lightly played or better: the total uses LP when available, then NM as the better-condition fallback. The MP, HP, and DMG tiers follow the same pattern.
