Evolving Skies is an expansion in the Sword & Shield era of the English-language Pokémon TCG, released on August 27, 2021 under the set code EVS. It has an official count of 203 cards, with 34 secret cards numbered above that for 237 printings in all. Its structure is built around V and VMAX cards, and several names appear in multiple versions, including Duraludon V, Duraludon VMAX, Espeon V, Aroma Lady and Copycat. The set leans on Water, Dragon, Psychic and Grass Pokémon, which suits an expansion centred on Eevee's evolutions and the Dragon-types.
The Evolving Skies card list climbs from commons and uncommons through holo rares to 105 chase-tier cards, split across Holo Rare V, Holo Rare VMAX, Ultra Rare and Secret Rare. The 34 secret rares sit above the printed 203. Umbreon VMAX, a Secret Rare illustrated by KEIICHIRO ITO, is the most valuable card, followed by Rayquaza VMAX from Anesaki Dynamic, then Rayquaza V and Dragonite V, both Ultra Rares. Value is heavily concentrated: the top five cards hold 61 percent of the set's total card value, so a handful of chase cards define the whole run.
As of October 2026, Evolving Skies ranks 1st by total card value among the 17 comparable Sword & Shield sets, at about 14.9 times the era median, and 13th across the whole game. Its Umbreon VMAX is the era's most valuable single card, and the set also leads the era in trading activity. At 203 printed cards it sits about level with the era median of 189. It followed Chilling Reign, which holds less total value, and came before Celebrations, which also holds less. Few sets of its era come close to this market weight.

Completing Evolving Skies means tracking down all 237 printings, and every one of them is priced. Because the top five cards carry 61 percent of the value, the cost of a full set is mostly the cost of a few Secret Rare and Ultra Rare cards, while the commons, uncommons and rares fill out cheaply by comparison. The sealed line is broad at 35 products, led by Elite Trainer Boxes and blisters, with booster boxes, Build & Battle Boxes, a booster bundle, booster packs and a booster case alongside.
