Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the Black & White era.
Dragons Exalted is the English-language Pokémon TCG expansion that carries the Dragon type into the Black & White era, released on August 15, 2012 under the set code DRX. Giratina-EX, Mew-EX and Ho-Oh-EX are its headline cards, and the Dragon, Grass, Psychic and Water types run through the card list. It has 124 official cards plus 4 secret cards, for 128 printings in all. Several Pokémon, among them Deino, Gabite and Garchomp, appear in two versions, which gives the evolution lines some depth within the release.
Dragons Exalted climbs from commons, uncommons and rares to 10 chase-tier cards: 6 Ultra Rares and 4 Secret Rares, with the secrets numbered past the printed 124. The most valuable cards are Giratina-EX, Mew-EX, Ho-Oh-EX and Rayquaza-EX, all Ultra Rares, with the Secret Rare Krookodile close behind. 5ban Graphics illustrated each of the top eight cards and 14 cards in the set overall. The top five cards hold 66 percent of the set's total card value, so most of the worth sits in a handful of pulls.

A complete Dragons Exalted run is 128 printings, and 127 of them carry pricing. Because the top five cards hold 66 percent of the set's card value, the cost of finishing it is driven by those few Ultra and Secret Rares, while the commons, uncommons and rares that make up most of the card list add comparatively little. Sealed product for the set is a booster box and a booster pack. Deck builders working with Dragon, Grass, Psychic and Water Pokémon will find those types well represented in the card list.
