Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the HeartGold & SoulSilver era.
Triumphant was released on November 3, 2010 as an expansion in the HeartGold & SoulSilver era of the English-language Pokémon TCG, carrying the set code TRI. It lists 102 official cards with one secret card above the printed count, 103 printings in all. The set is defined by its two-piece LEGEND cards, with Darkrai & Cresselia LEGEND and Palkia & Dialga LEGEND each printed twice, alongside Celebi, Electrode and Machamp, which also appear in more than one version. Psychic, Colorless, Grass and Water are the types it leans on most.
Triumphant's rarity ladder runs from commons and uncommons through rares and holo rares up to 12 chase-tier cards, split between eight Rare PRIME cards and four LEGEND cards, with the secret card numbered past the printed 102. Gengar in Rare PRIME leads the card list by value, ahead of Mew, also a Rare PRIME and illustrated by Hideaki Hakozaki. Darkrai & Cresselia LEGEND takes 3rd, followed by Palkia & Dialga LEGEND. The top five cards hold 59 percent of the set's total card value, so most of the worth sits in a handful of pulls.

Completing Triumphant means tracking down 103 printings, all of which carry a market price. Because the top five cards account for 59 percent of total card value, the cost of a full run is shaped mostly by the Gengar, Mew and LEGEND cards, while the many commons, uncommons and rares around them make up the bulk of the checklist at modest value. Sealed product for the set includes a booster box and a booster pack, which suits collectors who want to chase the Rare PRIME and LEGEND cards from the source.
