Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the Sun & Moon era.
Shining Legends is a compact Sun & Moon era expansion with an official count of 73 cards, plus 5 secret cards that bring the full run to 78 printings under the set code SLG. It released on October 6, 2017, and its card list is built around the GX mechanic and the Shining Pokémon. Mewtwo GX appears in four versions, Entei GX in three, and Raichu GX and Zoroark GX twice each, while the Pokémon types lean on Psychic, Darkness, Fire and Water.
The rarity structure is short: commons, uncommons and rares fill most of the list, and the chase tier is 12 Ultra Rares plus the 5 Secret Rares numbered above the printed 73. Shining Legends is led by the Secret Rare Mewtwo GX illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, followed by Shining Mew and Shining Rayquaza at Ultra Rare, then a second Mewtwo GX and Raichu GX at Secret Rare from 5ban Graphics. Value is very concentrated, with the top five cards holding 84 percent of the set's total card value.

A full run means 78 catalog printings, and all 78 are priced, so every card in the Shining Legends card list can be tracked. Because five cards carry most of the value, the cost of a complete set is set by those few Secret Rares and Shining Ultra Rares, while the commons, uncommons and rares are minor by comparison. Sealed product is listed as well, 13 products in all, including a booster pack, an Elite Trainer Box and a Premium Collection.
