Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the Sword & Shield era.
Shining Fates Shiny Vault is a subset in the Sword & Shield era of the English-language Pokémon TCG, released on February 19, 2021 under the set code SHF:SV. It carries 122 cards and is built around Charizard VMAX, Morpeko, Suicune and Galarian Ponyta, with Water, Psychic, Grass and Colorless Pokémon among the types it leans on. Rather than a standalone expansion, it is the shiny-card companion to the main Shining Fates release, collecting the alternate-colour Pokémon in a numbered run of their own.
Every card in the Shining Fates Shiny Vault belongs to the chase tier, from the 104 Shiny rares up through 9 Shiny rare V and 7 Shiny rare VMAX cards to 2 Secret Rares. Charizard VMAX, a Shiny rare VMAX illustrated by aky CG Works, is the most valuable card, followed by Morpeko, Suicune and Galarian Ponyta, all Shiny rares. The top five cards hold 30 percent of the set's total card value, so value is spread fairly evenly through the card list rather than locked in a few chase cards. 5ban Graphics illustrated the most cards, 13 in all.

A full run of Shining Fates Shiny Vault means 122 printings, and all 122 are priced. Because 30 percent of total value sits in the top five cards, the cost of a complete set leans on Charizard VMAX and a few other leading cards, while the large remainder is made up of Shiny rares that sit much closer together in value. Collectors working through the card list will find a long run of single-rarity cards, with the VMAX and Secret Rare cards forming the short top end of the set.
