Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the Scarlet & Violet era.
Scarlet & Violet is the English-language Pokémon TCG expansion that opened the Scarlet & Violet era, released on March 31, 2023 under the set code SVI. It follows Crown Zenith in release order and carries 198 printed cards, with 60 secret cards numbered above that count for 258 printings in total. Koraidon ex, Miraidon ex, Professor's Research and Tarountula each appear four times across rarities and treatments, and Arven shows up three times. The card list leans on Grass, Psychic, Fighting and Water Pokémon, and its Psychic line, built around Ralts, Kirlia and Gardevoir ex, supplies much of the value.
The Scarlet & Violet chase cards run from illustration rares up through ultra rares, double rares, special illustration rares and hyper rares, 72 chase-tier cards in all, with the secret cards numbered past the printed 198. Gardevoir ex in special illustration rare leads the most valuable cards, illustrated by Jiro Sasumo, followed by the illustration rares Drowzee, Slowpoke and Ralts. Jiro Sasumo also illustrated Kirlia, which sits 5th. The top five cards hold 32 percent of the set's total card value, a modest concentration, so value spreads across many illustration rares instead of resting on one or two pulls.
