Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the EX era.
POP Series 5 is a promotional run from the EX era of the English-language Pokémon TCG, released on March 1, 2007 under the set code P5. It holds 17 cards, and the whole run is a promo collection rather than a booster expansion, so it has no secret rares above the printed count. The set leans on Lightning, Darkness, Fire and Metal Pokémon, and its headline cards are Espeon ★, Lugia and Mew δ, with Charmeleon δ and Pikachu rounding out the cards that carry the value. The card list is short, and the delta species cards give it much of its character.
The POP Series 5 card list climbs only three rarity tiers, from commons through uncommons to rares, and none are flagged as chase tier, so the pull ladder is flat compared with a booster set. Demand still gathers around a few names. Espeon ★ is the most valuable card, followed by Lugia, Mew δ and Charmeleon δ, with Pikachu fifth. Masakazu Fukuda illustrated both Espeon ★ and Mew δ, while Mitsuhiro Arita drew Lugia and Charmeleon δ. Value is heavily concentrated: the top five cards hold 90 percent of the set's total card value.
POP Series 5 was released March 1, 2007.
POP Series 5 has 17 cards.
POP Series 5 is part of the EX era.
As of October 2026, POP Series 5 holds the 2nd highest total card value among the 10 comparable EX era sets, about 4.8 times the era median, and its Espeon ★ ranks 1st among the era's single most valuable cards. It also ranks 2nd for trading activity in the era and 13th for total value across the whole game. At 17 printed cards it sits about level with the era median. It followed Basic Energy (2007 copyright) and came before DP Black Star Promos, which holds more total value. Eleven of its cards first appeared in the Japanese PCG-P Promotional cards, released on February 1, 2004.

A full run of POP Series 5 is 17 catalog printings, and 16 of them are priced. Because the top five cards hold such a large share of the set's value, the cost of completing it is driven by a few cards, chiefly Espeon ★, Lugia and Mew δ, while the commons and uncommons add little. The page lists a single sealed product for the set, an other sealed item rather than a conventional booster box, so the card list is the main route into the set.
