Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the EX era.
POP Series 2 is a promo collection from the EX era of the English-language Pokémon TCG, released on August 1, 2005 under the set code P2. It is a compact run of 17 cards, and the full card list is the same 17 cards as the official count, with no secret cards stacked above it. The set leans on Grass, Colorless, Lightning and Water Pokémon. Celebi ex, Pikachu and Ivysaur are its headline cards, and a promotional run like this one is defined more by who appears in it than by any chase structure.
The POP Series 2 chase cards are not hidden behind a rarity ladder. Its rarities are only Common, Uncommon and Rare, with seven Rares, five Commons and five Uncommons, and none are tagged as chase-tier. The most valuable cards still stand out: Celebi ex, illustrated by Ryo Ueda, leads the set as a Rare, followed by the Common Pikachu by Yuka Morii, then Ivysaur by Ken Sugimori and Pokémon Park. The top five cards hold 56 percent of the set's total card value, so a few names carry most of the weight.

As of October 2026, POP Series 2 holds the 6th highest total card value of the 10 comparable EX sets, about 0.8 times the era median, and ranks 18th across the 35 comparable sets in the game. Its single most valuable card, Celebi ex, ranks 8th in the era, while trading activity places it 4th. At 17 printed cards it sits about the same size as the era median of 17. POP Series 1 came before it and holds more total value, and POP Series 3 followed and also holds more. Its cards first appeared in Japan in the PCG-P Promotional cards, released February 1, 2004, which shares 8 cards with it.

Completing POP Series 2 means finding 17 printings, and all 17 are priced. Because the top five cards hold 56 percent of the total card value, the cost of a complete set depends mostly on Celebi ex and a few other leading names, while the rest of the run is far lighter. The set's sealed line is a single product, listed as a sealed item outside the usual box and pack formats.
