Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the Mega Evolution era.
Mega Evolution is the opening expansion of the Mega Evolution era in the English-language Pokémon TCG, and its set code is MEG. The release date was September 26, 2025. The card list runs 132 official cards with 56 secret cards above that count, 188 printings in total. The set is built around the return of Mega-evolved ex Pokémon, with Mega Gardevoir ex and Mega Lucario ex each printed four times across different rarities. Grass, Fighting, Psychic and Colorless types carry the Pokémon, and Trainer cards such as Acerola's Mischief, Lillie's Determination and Lt. Surge's Bargain each appear in three versions.
The pull ladder climbs from commons and uncommons through double rares, ultra rares and illustration rares to special illustration rares, with the secret cards numbered past the printed 132. Mega Lucario ex in Mega Hyper Rare, illustrated by 5ban Graphics, is the most valuable card, followed by the Special illustration rare Mega Gardevoir ex by Raita Kazama, the Special illustration rare Mega Lucario ex by Atsushi Furusawa and the Mega Hyper Rare Mega Gardevoir ex. In all, 66 cards sit in chase tiers, and the top five cards alone hold 62 percent of the set's total card value.

A full run is 188 printings, and all 188 are priced. Because 62 percent of the set's value sits in five cards, the cost of finishing it is driven by a handful of Mega Hyper Rare and Special illustration rare cards, while the commons and uncommons that make up most of the run add little. Sealed product for Mega Evolution is broad at 34 items, covering blisters, Elite Trainer Boxes, mini tins, booster packs, booster boxes and booster cases, along with booster bundles and Build & Battle Boxes.
