Legends Awakened leans on Rayquaza, Mewtwo and Dragonite as its headline cards, with Mewtwo appearing in both a Rare Holo and a Rare Holo LV.X version. It is an expansion in the Diamond & Pearl series, released on August 1, 2008 under the set code LA, and it carries 146 printed cards. The set has a wide spread of Pokémon types, leaning on Psychic, Water, Fighting and Colorless. Several Pokémon show up in more than one printing, among them Gliscor with three, plus Azelf, Beldum, Chinchou and Gligar with two each.
The Legends Awakened card list climbs from commons and uncommons through rares and Rare Holo cards to seven Rare Holo LV.X cards, the set's chase tier. The most valuable cards are led by Rayquaza in Rare Holo, illustrated by Kent Kanetsuna, followed by the Rare Holo LV.X Mewtwo from Shizurow and the Rare Holo Dragonite by Mitsuhiro Arita. The Rare Holo Mewtwo and the LV.X Azelf round out the top five. Those five cards hold 47 percent of the set's total card value, so the most valuable cards matter, though the remainder of the set carries real weight too.
As of October 2026, Legends Awakened holds the 5th highest total card value among the 11 comparable Diamond & Pearl sets, about equal to the era median, and 63rd across the whole game. Its single most valuable card ranks 7th in the era and its trading activity ranks 8th. At 146 printed cards it runs larger than the era median of 123. It followed Majestic Dawn and came before Stormfront, and both hold similar total value. Its cards first appeared in Japan in DP5: Temple of Anger and DP5: Cry from the Mysterious, both released March 14, 2008.

A complete Legends Awakened run covers 146 catalog printings, and all 146 are priced, so there are no unpriced gaps in the checklist. With 47 percent of total card value sitting in the top five, the cost of finishing the set depends mostly on a few Rare Holo and LV.X cards rather than on the long commons-and-uncommons base. Sealed product is a small line of three items: the booster box, the booster pack and a deck, which covers the usual ways this expansion was sold.
