Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the EX era.
Dragon Frontiers is a 101-card expansion from the EX era of the English-language Pokémon TCG, released on November 8, 2006 under the set code DF. The card list is built around delta species Pokémon, and four of them, Horsea δ, Seadra δ, Trapinch δ and Vibrava δ, are printed twice each in the set. The headline cards are the starred and ex Pokémon led by Mew ☆ δ and Charizard ☆ δ, and the set leans on Fighting, Psychic, Fire and Lightning types. With 101 printings in the catalog and no secret cards above the count, its size is easy to take in.
The Dragon Frontiers card list has a plain structure: 40 Rares, 31 Uncommons and 30 Commons, with no secret cards numbered past 101. Every one of the most valuable cards is a Rare. Mew ☆ δ leads, followed by Charizard ☆ δ, both illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda, then Salamence ex δ and Dragonite ex δ, both from Ryo Ueda. The top five cards hold 70 percent of the set's total card value, so the cost of a complete Dragon Frontiers is driven by a handful of delta ex and star cards while the rest of the card list sits far below them.
Dragon Frontiers was released November 8, 2006.
Dragon Frontiers has 101 cards.
Dragon Frontiers is part of the EX era.
As of October 2026, Dragon Frontiers holds the 5th highest total card value of the 16 comparable EX sets, about 1.4 times the era median, and its Mew ☆ δ ranks 3rd among the era's single most valuable cards. Across the whole game it places 12th by total value, and it ranks 6th in its era for trading activity. At 101 printed cards it is about the same size as the era median of 107. It followed Crystal Guardians, which holds less total value, and came before Power Keepers, which also holds less. Its cards first appeared in Japan in Offense and Defense of the Furthest Ends, released June 29, 2006.

Completing Dragon Frontiers means finding all 101 catalog printings, and every one of them is priced. Because 70 percent of the set's value sits in five cards, the chase cards account for most of what a complete set costs, and the long tail of Commons and Uncommons is the easy part. The delta species that appear twice, including Horsea δ and Trapinch δ, are worth checking so both versions are accounted for. Sealed product for the set includes a booster box, a booster pack and a blister.
