Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the EX era.
Dragon Frontiers is an English-language Pokémon TCG expansion from the EX era and series, released on November 8, 2006 under the set code DF. It is a compact release of 101 cards, with 101 printings in the catalog. The set leans on Fighting, Psychic, Fire and Lightning Pokémon, and it carries the delta species marker throughout. Horsea δ, Seadra δ, Trapinch δ and Vibrava δ each appear in two versions, while the headline cards are the starred and ex delta Pokémon led by Mew ☆ δ and Charizard ☆ δ.
Dragon Frontiers splits its card list across Common, Uncommon and Rare, and none of those tiers is flagged as a chase tier, so the value sits in specific Rare cards rather than in a separate secret layer. Mew ☆ δ leads the set, followed by Charizard ☆ δ, Dragonite ex δ and Salamence ex δ, with Latios ex δ close behind. Masakazu Fukuda illustrated the top two and Ryo Ueda the next three. The top five cards hold 70 percent of the set's total card value, so the rest of the card list matters far less to the overall tally.
Dragon Frontiers was released November 8, 2006.

Dragon Frontiers is part of the EX era.
As of October 2026, Dragon Frontiers holds the 5th highest total card value of the 16 comparable EX sets, about 1.5 times the era median, and 12th across the 130 sets in the game. Its Mew ☆ δ ranks 3rd among the era's most valuable single cards, while trading activity places the set 6th in the era. At 101 printed cards it sits about level with the era median of 107. It followed Crystal Guardians, which holds less total value, and came before Power Keepers, which also holds less. Its cards first appeared in Japan in Offense and Defense of the Furthest Ends, released June 29, 2006, which shares 66 cards with it.

The full run is 101 printings, and all 101 are priced. Because the top five cards carry 70 percent of the set's total card value, the cost of a complete Dragon Frontiers set is driven by a handful of starred and ex delta Rares, while the bulk of the Commons, Uncommons and lesser Rares make up a small remainder. The sealed line includes a booster box, a booster pack and a blister, covering the main ways the set was sold when it released.
