Release date, card count, chase cards and how it compares with the Scarlet & Violet era.
Destined Rivals is led by Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex, Cynthia's Garchomp ex and Ethan's Ho-Oh ex, trainer-owned ex cards that each appear in several versions across the set. This Scarlet & Violet expansion, set code DRI, has a release date of May 30, 2025, and its card list runs to 182 official cards with 62 secret cards above that count, 244 printings in all. Darkness, Grass, Water and Fire are the Pokémon types it leans on most. Team Rocket's Crobat ex and Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex also come in four printings apiece, so the set is built around rival-themed ex Pokémon with plenty of alternate treatments.
The pull ladder in Destined Rivals climbs from commons and uncommons through rares to 79 chase-tier cards: illustration rares, ultra rares, double rares, special illustration rares and hyper rares. The secret cards are numbered past the printed 182, which is where most of the top end sits. The most valuable cards are Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex, Cynthia's Garchomp ex, Ethan's Ho-Oh ex and Team Rocket's Nidoking ex, all special illustration rares, drawn by Iwamoto05, HICO KIM, Atsushi Furusawa and Uninori respectively. The top five cards alone hold 58 percent of the set's total card value.
